Archdiocesan Pastoral Youth Council (APYC)
One of the goals of Catholic Youth Ministry stated in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry, (USCCB 1997) is “to invite young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community.” We are proud to tell you that the Archdiocese of Chicago has formed an Archdiocesan Pastoral Youth Council (APYC), which is an advisory board to Cardinal Blase J. Cupich. The APYC is comprised of three youth representatives from Vicariate and three from the Polish Community. The council meets four times throughout the year to discuss questions posed by the Cardinal concerning youth and culture, time for spiritual growth, and to learn about events taking place within the Archdiocese.
Currently there are spots open in Vicariates I, II, III, VI and the Polish Community. We are now taking applications for these Vicariates for the 2016-17 year, please see the link below.

The APYC is led by two youth Co-Chairs, who are also delegates to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council. These delegates relate discussion and answers from each APYC to the APC Executive Board and General Session. Additionally, one female representative is asked to represent the APYC at the Archdiocesan Women's Committee (AWC) which serves as a constultative body for the Cardinal on women's issues. Delegates for the APC and the AWC have been chosen for the 2016-17 school year.
